Having been established in September 2018, SENsations NEST is Northern Ireland’s first independent special school for children with a range of additional special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, learning difficulties and social/emotional/behavioural difficulties. Additionally, we are a registered charity.
We are based in a leafy suburban location, just outside Belfast, which provides a tranquil environment from which we can focus on developing children’s holistic needs including their emotional wellbeing. We welcome children of nursery and primary school age.

Each child is supported to develop their social, emotional and behavioural wellbeing, which in turn allows them to embrace and enjoying learning in a nurturing environment, providing a home away from home.
We provide a child-centred, individualised programme for children, where their personalities and strengths can be nurtured.
Our team is Psychology led by Dr. Clare Caughey and includes specialist teachers and classroom assistants as well as Speech & Language and Behaviour Therapists.
